Terms of Service

1. Who We Are
Sporo is operated by SporoApp Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Our platform is accessible at sporo.fit and related mobile applications (collectively, "the Platform").
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility
To use Sporo you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of the United Kingdom (unless otherwise stated)
- Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
- Not have been previously banned from the Platform
By registering, you confirm you meet these requirements.
3. Account Types
Sporo offers two types of accounts:
3.1 Free Members
Free accounts may browse member profiles, create a profile, and view activities. Messaging and full access to member contact features require a paid membership.
3.2 Paid Members
A paid membership (currently £19.99 per month, subject to change) grants access to direct messaging, identity-verified member badges, and full platform features. Paid members are required to complete identity verification via Stripe Identity before messaging is enabled.
3.3 Business Accounts
Sports clubs, gyms, and fitness businesses may register a business account to post activities, manage group chats, and promote their services to Sporo members. Business accounts are subject to these Terms and any additional business-specific guidelines we publish.
4. Identity Verification
Paid members are required to complete identity verification using Stripe Identity. This process involves submitting a valid government-issued photo ID. Verification is handled directly by Stripe; we do not store your identity documents.
Your verified status is displayed on your profile to give other members confidence that you are who you say you are. Attempting to circumvent or falsify identity verification is grounds for immediate and permanent account termination.
5. Payments & Subscriptions
Paid memberships are billed monthly via Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time via your account settings. Your membership will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial months. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at legal@sporo.fit.
- Price changes: We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price changes via email before they take effect.
- Activity fees: Some activities posted by business accounts may carry their own fees. These are set by the business and collected separately.SporoApp Ltd is not responsible for activity fees charged by third parties.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share phone numbers, email addresses, or other personal contact details through the Platform's messaging system
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other members
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information in your profile or activities
- Use the Platform for any commercial purpose not authorised by us
- Attempt to scrape, copy, or harvest member data
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Post content that is illegal, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or violent
- Attempt to bypass our content filters or safety systems
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice or refund.
7. Content & Photos
You retain ownership of content you upload (including profile photos and activity descriptions). By uploading content, you grant SporoApp Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content to operate the Platform.
Profile photos are subject to moderation. We reserve the right to remove any photo that violates our community guidelines, including photos that are not of the account holder, are sexually explicit, or are otherwise inappropriate.
8. Messaging & Safety
Sporo provides in-app messaging to connect members. Our content filtering system automatically detects and blocks attempts to share personal contact information (phone numbers, email addresses) through messages.
While we take steps to verify members' identities and moderate content, we cannot guarantee the conduct of any member. You are responsible for your own safety when meeting other members in person. Always meet in public places.
You can block any member at any time via your account settings. Blocked members cannot message you or view your profile.
9. Reporting Concerns
If you encounter a member or piece of content that concerns you, please use the in-app report function or contact us at legal@sporo.fit. We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include removal of content or account termination.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SporoApp Ltd excludes all warranties, express or implied.
We are not liable for:
- The conduct of any member on or off the Platform
- Any loss or damage arising from your use of the Platform
- Temporary unavailability of the Platform
- Loss of data caused by technical issues outside our control
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time via your account settings. On deletion, your profile and messages will be removed from the Platform within 30 days, subject to our legal data retention obligations.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, without liability to you. Where practical we will notify you, but we reserve the right to act immediately in cases of serious breach.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
